Mark Houtz is Regional IT Director and Network Engineer for Northeastern Utah Educational Services, a subsidiary of the Utah Education and Telehealth Network, where he leads network and security engineering for nine rural school districts and five charter schools covering more than 33,500 students and staff. He has helped build and test some of the earliest CBRS-based Private LTE/5G remote learning networks for under-connected students, in partnership with Murray School District, and works on eduroam and OpenRoaming deployment across rural K-12 sites. He is a CWNE and Certified Education Technology Leader, served as Interim IT Director for Daggett School District, and previously spent years in restaurant point-of-sale networking and PCI-DSS compliance work.
